Christian States Marines

Along with Amphibious Landing the United States Marine Corps pionered the tactic of "Vertical Invelopment"  The earliest known excercise was in 1952 at Camp Pendleton.  It involved tranporting over 2000 Marine infantry to support and Amphibious Landing by inserting the 2000 man force behind "enemy" lines via Helicopter.  This tactic was later the main tactic used in Viet Nam for the insertion and movement of Marine Infantry.
